Mecklenburg County Public Health is proud to announce Nurse Amanda Rogers from Myers Park High School as Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) School Nurse of the Year for 2025. Nurse Rogers received the award at a surprise ceremony with public health leadership and CMS colleagues and students on May 7, National School Nurse Day. Myers Park High School is among the largest schools in the state of North Carolina with a diverse population of around 3,300 students.
“We are grateful for Nurse Rogers who always provides exceptional and compassionate care to every student at Myers Park High School, regardless of their background or circumstances,” said School Health Director Tiffany Brown. “Thank you for your continued commitment and dedication to our program.”
Mecklenburg County Public Health partners with CMS to provide school health nursing services at every CMS school throughout the district. School health nurses offer a range of services including health assessments, direct nursing care, oversight of medication administration, emergency care and support for health promotion initiatives.
“I’d like to extend my heartfelt congrats and thanks to Nurse Rogers on this amazing accomplishment! We are so grateful for all of our school health nurses on the frontlines of protecting and promoting physical and mental health of our students, making learning possible,” said Health Director Dr. Raynard Washington.
