Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services Hosts Creek Week March 18
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and its partners are hosting events March 18-25 to take a closer look “Into the Waters.” There will be more than 20 educational and volunteer opportunities available for all ages this Creek Week. Volunteers will teach the community about our precious waterways and how to keep them clean and healthy.
Residents can sign up to make a rain barrel, clean a stream near their neighborhood, spend a lunch hour volunteering, or enjoy family story time with Stormy the Storm Water Turtle. From Saturday, March 18 through Saturday, March 25 there are activities each day. The week concludes with The Big Spring Clean on Saturday, March 25, 9 a.m. - noon, as hundreds of residents gather at creek locations around Charlotte-Mecklenburg for a big, one-day cleanup event.
