County Leaders Attend NACo Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.

Mecklenburg County leaders traveled to Washington, D.C., Feb. 21–24 to participate in the National Association of Counties (NACo) Legislative Conference. The conference brings together nearly 2,000 elected and appointed county leaders from across the country to focus on federal policy issues impacting local governments.

During the conference, the County delegation, which included District 6 Commissioner Susan Rodriguez-McDowell, County Manager Mike Bryant, Deputy County Manager Derrick Ramos, Deputy County Manager Michelle Attreed and Intergovernmental Affairs Manager Lisette Nimmons, engaged in high-impact policy sessions and met with members of Congress and their staff to advocate for issues critical to Mecklenburg County. Discussions focused on federal priorities and partnerships that directly affect our community, ensuring Mecklenburg County’s voice is represented at the national level.
