Update Extreme Weather: Power Outage - Valerie C. Woodard Center Remains Closed

Currently, only Valerie C. Woodard Center (VCW) remains closed. All other facilities listed below are now open.

Community Resource Center Customers

Customers looking to access services offered at the VCW Community Resource Center are encouraged to visit the Ella B. Scarborough Community Resource Center located at 430 Stitt Road. 

County Assessor's Office Customers

Customers looking to contact the County Assessor's Office are encouraged to email or call 980-314-4226.

Office of the Tax Collector Customers

Customers needing to pay their taxes are encouraged to pay online (eCheck has no fee). You can also receive info about the Office of the Tax Collector at Tax.MeckNC.gov or by calling 311 (704-336-7600).

Recent severe weather has caused wide-spread power outages across Mecklenburg County. As a result of utility failure, the locations below are closed today, Thursday May 9, 2024:

  • Valerie C. Woodard Center
     
  • Tuckaseegee Recreation Center
     
  • Sugaw Creek Recreation Center
     
  • Central District AOB (1203 Allegheny) 

The duration of the closure will be dependent on Duke Energy restoration time. 

Employees who work at these facilities and have remote work capabilities should plan to telework.
