The Mecklenburg County Office of Economic Development has partnered with Elnik Systems, the only furnace supplier that is focused on the debind/sinter technology for Metal Injection Molding (MIM), to announce the company's plan to build a new, state of the art industrial facility in Pineville.

Elnik Systems is leasing 52,417 square feet in a 202,000 square foot facility that will will house world-class production equipment and serve as a training site, bringing 55 new jobs to the area with an average salary of $63,636. Elnik officials cited Mecklenburg County's excellent quality of life and access to a high-quality labor market as major factors in the company's decision.

Elnik Systems is a family-owned business established in Germany in 1969. In 1999, Elnik moved operations to New Jersey and began to standardize its MIM furnace line. The move to Pineville will allow Elnik to expand production and continue the manufacturing of the most advanced MIM furnaces and debinding ovens in the world for one-step debinding and sintering processes. The company will support area STEM programs, technical schools and universities by offering process engineering and metallurgy training and education.

"We see Mecklenburg County as a place where our business will benefit from locating in a business-friendly environment with a skilled labor force," said Elnik Systems president Stefan Joens. "We are positioning the company for strong growth and the right location is a major part of that strategy."

"Keeping Mecklenburg County's economy heathy depends on our ability to attract and support companies large and small," said Mecklenburg County Commission Chairman George Dunlap. "We welcome Elnik Systems to our corporate community, and we look forward to helping them build a strong future here while providing jobs to our citizens."

This project was a collaborative effort between Mecklenburg County and the City of Pineville. Construction is under construction with an opening slated for early this summer.
