Mecklenburg County Welcomes Global Trade and Business Conference

Mecklenburg County will take a turn on the international stage beginning April 30 when it welcomes the British American Business Network (BABN) Transatlantic Conference. The three-day conference, titled “Focus on the Future: Navigating the Demands of Tomorrow’s World,” brings leaders from the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada to Mecklenburg County for discussions on trade and investment among the nations.
Mark Jerrell, chair of the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners, will welcome the group with opening remarks on Thursday, May 1, at 9 a.m. Chair Jerrell will offer a vision of Charlotte-Mecklenburg as a community where new and well-established businesses from around the world can find opportunities for investment.
The BABN Transatlantic Conference includes high-level business discussions among senior executives and decision-makers, thought-leaders and government representatives from the U.K. and U.S. actively involved in bilateral trade, investment and business flows among the nations. Speakers, panelists, and other special guests will also take part. Sessions will spotlight the investment relationships among the nations and rest of the world, deregulation, sustainability, sports as an economic driver, and more.
The conference is an opportunity for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community to promote its robust and diverse economy and demonstrate why it is a premier destination for global businesses.
