Mecklenburg Projects Top Business NC’s Job-Rich Economic Development Projects List of 2022-2023

In the aftermath of the state’s record-breaking job creation announcements in 2020 and 2021, Mecklenburg County continues to be a leader in employment recruiting through its economic development projects.

Five of the 25 job-rich economic development projects recently highlighted by Business North Carolina magazine are in Mecklenburg County. The included projects consisted of Bank of London, alpitonic Americas, Atom Power, Albemarle, and Seg Systems.

Business North Carolina is a business publication that focuses on reporting on the developments, figures, and organizations that shape the economic landscape of our state. The highlighted Mecklenburg County projects account for 1,205 new jobs and more than $350 million in investments. 

This year’s Top 25 list ranked projects from June 2022 through May 2023 based on information obtained from press reports, reports from the North Carolina Department of Commerce, and reports from the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina.
