A vibrant new mural has been unveiled at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market, showcasing the importance of food security, healthy eating, and the vital connections between farmers and the community.

The mural, created in partnership with Mecklenburg County Public Health and painted by Abel Jackson of Art by Abel, transforms one of the market’s central spaces into a colorful celebration of fresh food, local farms, and the shared commitment to building a healthier Mecklenburg County.

The Charlotte Regional Farmers Market, one of four North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services markets in North Carolina, serves as a gathering place for farmers, artisans, and families. The new artwork reflects the market’s role as a hub for healthy living and highlights the County’s dedication to creating environments that make nutritious food accessible to all.

Community members and visitors are encouraged to stop by, view the mural, and learn more about local programs that support food access, nutrition education, and farm-to-table initiatives.

This is part of an ongoing partnership between the two entities that also includes the implementation of SNAP Double Bucks (with Charlotte Mecklenburg Food Policy Council), among other initiatives. The mural project was fully funded by Mecklenburg County Public Health as part of its ongoing efforts to promote food security and healthy lifestyles across the county.
