Application Period and Kickoff Meeting Set for FY2026-2027 Community Development Block Grant Funds

Mecklenburg County is preparing for its FY 2026-2027 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Annual Action Plan and funding allocation by holding a kickoff meeting on Jan. 28. As an Entitlement County, the County received $1,082,803 in entitlement funds for FY 2025-2026. The exact allocation for FY 2026-2027 has not been announced by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, but the County is anticipating receiving approximately $1,082,803 in CDBG funding that will be available for qualifying public service programs and public projects in FY 2026-2027.

Application Period for FY2026-2027 Community Development Block Grant Funds

Mecklenburg County is accepting applications for projects seeking CDBG funding for the 2026-2027 program year. The application period will start on Jan. 27, 2026, and will close on Feb. 27, 2026. Applications must be submitted to Lovetta Walton [email protected].

The funding is available in a limited target area. Eligible neighborhoods and/or beneficiaries must be located in Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville, Matthews, Pineville, Mint Hill or the unincorporated areas of Mecklenburg County.
