Bosch Rexroth, a leading manufacturer of factory automation solutions, will invest $58 million into a new state-of-the-art customizing and research and development facility that will expand its operations for linear motion and assembly technologies. In addition to retaining 326 employees currently employed at their Charlotte operations, the company will hire 24 more people.

"We are excited to experience the growth that necessitates this move, and we are proud to remain within Charlotte," remarked President and CEO, Greg Gumbs.

Bosch Rexroth has operated a production facility in Charlotte for over 30 years and currently employs about 326 people. The new positions will include a mix of engineers, sales and customer service, administrative and production roles.

Bosch Rexroth is a crucial leader in Mecklenburg County's manufacturing sector and has established strong partnerships with local workforce development organizations and educational institutions, fostering hands-on opportunities to increase access to careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics at Olympic High School and Charlotte Works.  Since 2014, Bosch Rexroth has donated over $600k to support STEM and First Robotics activities in the Charlotte metro area through the support of the Bosch Community Fund.

"We are excited to support the expansion of Bosch Rexroth's advanced manufacturing facility in one of the County's Business Investment Program Opportunity Areas. This project aligns with many County Commission goals, including providing high-quality jobs for residents and promoting environmental stewardship by redeveloping a brownfield site. We look forward to our continued partnership with this global leader and pioneer as we build on their 20+ year legacy here in Mecklenburg County," said George Dunlap, Chairman, Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners.

The company will be relocating to a new, build-to-suit property off Tyvola Road, investing $58 million in a transformative facility that boasts a total footprint of 227,500 square feet. Most of the facility will be dedicated to lean manufacturing and logistics, providing enough room to optimize flexible manufacturing for changing demands. The building will also feature a customer showroom and innovation center, training facilities, and collaboration spaces.

"Charlotte is quickly establishing itself as a frontrunner for leading manufacturing companies," said Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles. "Bosch Rexroth has become a valued community partner and we are thrilled that they are choosing not only to stay, but to grow, in our city."

Bosch Rexroth is currently hiring for a variety of positions in production and logistics at their Charlotte facility. Interested applicants can visit https://www.boschrexroth.com/en/us/jobs-and-career/ for more information.
