Money is Available Now Through the County's Meck Lending Program

As small businesses across the County continue to recover and grow, many are in need of financial support. Mecklenburg County's small business fund, Meck Lending, has funds available now. Meck Lending is a loan program offering favorable business loans and free assistance to help small business owners grow their business.

Key points about Meck Lending include:

  • Modifications to loan requirements now position more individuals to be eligible
  • Up to $75,000 available
  • Interest only payments for the first 12 months
  • Interest rate at Prime (5.5%)
  • Fast and easy process
  • Free guidance and resources from professionals

Businesses that apply must be located in Mecklenburg County and have annual revenue under $2 million. Other eligibility requirements include: no bankruptcy filing for the business and/or owner within the past five years, no open tax liens, and no unpaid judgments over $1,000 (medical related exempt). Applicants must also be current with County tax obligations.

The County is an active partner with the loan program administrator, Carolina Small Business Development Fund, and plays a supportive role through all phases of the application and loan process.
