New Senior Rides: Mecklenburg Transportation System Accepting New Clients
The Mecklenburg Transportation System (MTS), the County’s non-emergency medical and general public transportation service, has opened trips to new customers.
Travel with the Mecklenburg Transportation System is available to eligible seniors who are 60+ or disabled residents under the age of 60 for rides to medical appointments, such as dialysis or chemotherapy; adult day care; grocery stores, food banks, and farmers markets; paid employment and post-secondary education trips. Trips for Medicaid-approved appointments are no-fee to the customer; other trips would incur a $1.50 fee each way.

Community Meetings: A series of community meetings are scheduled March 2 - 11, where riders and residents can learn more about these updates and how the cashless system will enhance accessibility, safety, and convenience for riders. Residents are invited to ask questions and share their concerns. View the calendar of community meetings and register to learn more about the updates with the Mecklenburg Transportation System.
About MTS: The Mecklenburg Transportation System is administered through Mecklenburg County’s Department of Child, Family, and Adult Services, Services for Adults division.
