Residents Invited to Drop Off Recyclables During Take-Back Event

Mecklenburg County Solid Waste is hosting a Take-Back event on Saturday, Sept. 20, where residents can drop off their unwanted recyclables.

Take Back Day takes place at Compost Central, 140 Valleydale Road in Charlotte, from 9 a.m. to noon. Mecklenburg County is partnering with Goodwill and Assist M.E. to make sure donated items in good condition can go on to help someone else.

Residents can drop off:

• Electronics in working condition  
• Rechargeable/lithium-ion batteries  
• Sensitive documents for shredding. Up to three banker-type boxes will be accepted for each vehicle. Registration is required for paper shredding.  
• Certain medical devices.
• Clothing, towels, sheets and shoes
