Safety First: Department of Labor Recognizes Mecklenburg County

Several Mecklenburg County departments were recognized with N.C. Department of Labor Safety Awards for their efforts in promoting a safe, healthy workplace.

The awards are based on maintaining good safety records and achieving safe work criteria, including days away from work or job transfers due to injuries or illness. The award was presented by N.C. Commissioner of Labor Luke Farley during a banquet on April 8.

Office of the Tax Collector – Gold Award
Land Use and Environmental Services Agency (LUESA) – Gold Award
Park and Recreation – Silver Award
Park and Recreation (Park Operations) – Gold Award
Legal Department – Gold Award
