Serving Those Who Served: Veterans Services Division Awarded for Care of Local Vets
Mecklenburg County Veterans Services Division has been selected as the Veterans Bridge Home Janene Stewart McGee Provider of the Year.
The award is presented by Veterans Bridge Home to a partner in the NCServes network that has made and received referrals to ensure that veterans and their families receive holistic, tailored, and locally delivered care. Mecklenburg County Veterans Services Division is a long-standing partner of Veterans Bridge Home in providing critical support for veterans.
The Janene Stewart McGee Provider of the Year Award is named in honor of the late director of Mecklenburg County Veterans Services, who passed away in 2020. It was presented at the Carolina Veterans Day Festival on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024.
“It’s an honor for our division to be recognized for our work in serving the veterans of Mecklenburg County and North Carolina,” said Scott Garlow, Mecklenburg County Veterans Services Division Director. “We value our partnership with Veterans Bridge Home and the work they do throughout the community. This award is a testament to the sacrifice and courage of our local veterans, and to our staff who work to ensure they receive the benefits and recognition that they deserve.”
Mecklenburg County Community Support Services’ Veterans Services Division is dedicated to serving veterans and their families. The office is accredited through the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers, North Carolina Division of Veterans Affairs, and the American Legion.
