William R. Davie Staffed Recycling Center Now Open

Mecklenburg County Solid Waste and Park and Recreation are excited to announce that the William R. Davie Staffed Recycling Center is now re-open, following enhancements to enlarge the site and make it a staffed center.
The improved center inside William R. Davie Park accepts curbside recycling items, as well as most enhanced recycling items. Staff will now be on-site to help residents properly recycle items.
The following items are accepted:
- Plastic bottles and jugs with necks
- Cardboard
- Cans (aluminum and steel)
- Milk and juice cartons
- Paper
- Glass bottles
- Rechargeable batteries
- Bicycles
- Hardback and softcover books
- Textiles
- Shredded paper
- White rigid foam
- Food scraps
Household waste, scrap metal, stoves, refrigerators, freezers, tires, yard waste, bulk materials, and construction and demolition debris will not be accepted at this center. These items are only accepted at the County's larger four full-service centers.
The William R. Davie Self Service Recycling Center is located at 4635 Pineville-Matthews Road in Charlotte. It is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The recycling center is among several improvements underway at William R. Davie Park. Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is now accepting survey responses from residents about proposed improvements to the dog park. The survey closes July 18.
