Mecklenburg County Offices and Services Delayed Tuesday, Feb. 3
Due to the inclement weather and cold temperatures this week, Mecklenburg County offices and services will operate on a delayed basis on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, opening at noon.
This includes all units of:
- DSS Child, Family, and Adult Services
- Hotlines operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week to receive reports of suspected abuse or neglect. To report abuse of seniors or the disabled, call 704-336-CARE (2273). To report abuse, neglect, or human trafficking of children, call 980-31-HELPS (43577).

Park and Recreation: Staff members are assessing conditions at each recreation, senior and nature center. Residents are encouraged to call before arriving at a facility to learn about adjusted hours on Tuesday, Feb. 3. Please note, registration for Summer Camps will remain as scheduled.
Charlotte Mecklenburg Library locations are expected to open at noon and close at 5 p.m.
